Another cold, rainy day. Savannah, Georgia. Wow! Such a beautiful town. It’s the town where the opening scene from Forrest Gump was filmed – the scene with the feather.
So much history, including cotton and slavery, and significant in the War of Independence. Interestingly, the locals call it the Revolutionary War.
And we’re now on the east coast! Coast to coast.
After arriving in town and checking in with the tourist information centre, we did a trolley bus tour of the town. Very informative, but not many photos today because of the rain.
Tried ‘grits’ for the first time. And last.
Yeah I don’t like grit’s either….anyway enjoy all the park squares and welcome to the East Coast.
Oh when you get a chance go to Bubba Gump restaurant (there’s one in Times Square) to get a bit of the Forest Gump theme…..
Hello Travelling Hunters!
I have been thinking of you all but haven’t had a chance to follow your travels since you left the West Coast till tonight – wow what an amazing time – I didn’t realise you were going to Nashville and Memphis as well – Sun Studios looks amazing – I remember that building from that Johnny Cash biopic. Keep warm!
ps thank you Carol for the card – amazing how you got the remote control postman to do that 😉
Heartily agree on the Grits! 🙂
Yeah, grits….. they have them with salt and pepper!? Paul tried adding maple syrup to try and be palatable… nah didn’t work either
